An early season toodle up towards tree line. Wind was strong with gusts likely close to 60km/hr out of the SE, so that really made for some challenges in comfort. At time of observation precip was S1, -6, and overcast. The notable result was the Nov 16 interface which was Resistant Planar CTH4 down 50cm on 05.-1mm facets. This interface was the objective of this observation. Elevation:1815m HS 155cm incline 30deg CTM1 down 10cm, Uneven, Storm Slab CTM5 down 30cm, Uneven CTH4 down 50cm, Resistant Planar, Facets There are two Knife hardness layers 5cm’s apart down 100cm’s Skiing was pretty good, but travel in the trees is ‘heads up hockey’ early season hazards are real!

Heavy wind transport during storm, temperature raising throughout the day. Above tree line accumulation looked closer to 10cm’s only 3cm recorded at 1130m. Rain began overnight (Nov 27th) around 2000hrs and continued throughout the night. @ 1130m 1cm of HST was lost due to rain/warmth. Melt freeze crust developed overnight with a low of 0deg and high 2deg.
