Weather

BKN moving to OVC. S-1 snow around 1300. Moderate SW winds, some gusts of strong. We tried to stay in cover as best we could.

Snowpack

Climbing from the main snowstake area, was finding small pockets of wind drifted snow in areas that are normally very sheltered from the wind. Tried to find some pockets with some reactivity, but didnt come up with much of note. We dug on a SE aspect NTL. Found 20cm of F hard decomposing fragments, atop 40cm of 1F rounds moving to facets. A melt freeze crust (perhaps the new years rain crust?) with some more P hard facets rounding, atop 37cm of rounding depth hoar. No results in CT or ECT. PST showed 70/100 END on the mid pack crust. 50/100 End on the depth hoar.
