We came out of a really nice multi-day trip on the Cambria Icefield via the Bear Glacier. On the way up we witnessed a lot of deep crowns—the March 31st week layer was/is really reactive in the area. No signs of instability higher up on the Cambria which was a sign to stay alert to that dangerous layer. A melt-freeze cycle helped us with glacier travel on the Bear and the Cambria, but only above 1000m or so. The crevasse bridges were sagging and the snow stayed really warm below that.
