Average height of snow was 80 cm; the crown size average depth was 45 cm. Avalanche released on interfaces between the slab and the lower level facets of early season snow (SS-S-R2-D2-I).
Avalanche
35 degree slope on a 80 degree E aspect at 11080 ft. This avalanche was skier triggered on a steep E facing slope on 12/06/22. The avalanche ran approx. 320 vertical feet from crown to stauchwall, a 520 ft total length. It was medium relative to path size and was destructive enough to bury, injure, or kill a person. There were at least two previous slides noted in the area by the reporting party.
