Cold and blustery with periods of light snow. Significant snow transport along ridgetops and on open slopes near treeline.
Snowpack
We found around 2 feet of storm snow at 10,000 feet and close to 3 feet at 11,000 feet. The new snow was dense, thick but right-side-up. Ski penetration was about half the depth traveling uphill. It was an arduous task to cover much distance today. We observed isolated cracking in the storm snow on slopes around 35 degrees. Northerly-facing slopes below 11,000 feet lack a plethora of old, November snow, and we found the distribution to be quite spotty and inconsistent across the same slope. Snow surfaces in open areas was wind-pressed but remained soft.
