Weather
Skies started off mostly sunny but had increasing clouds throughout the day and were mostly overcast by 2pm. The winds were moderate out of WNW which slowed the melt process from the previous night's freeze. It was warm (40's) in the sun when the wind wasn't blowing.
Snowpack
Below treeline on SE at 10,800' the snow started to corn up at 10am. It was supportive to boots though and only weak around vegetation and rock edges. Near treeline about a 1,000' higher the surface was becoming wet at noon with a large-grained corn layer in the top 8cm. Below that was the melt-freeze layer that was still frozen from the previous night and supportive to boots. The rest of the snowpack was moist to the ground with a 25 cm midpack and 25 cm of loose basal rounding facets.
