Snowpack

South and east facing slopes softened around 11:30 AM and the top of the surface began to refreeze mid afternoon. The snow on these aspects never softened beyond the top 3 or 4 inches of snow. North facing slopes still hold cold dry snow below the top few inches of the snowpack. The weak faceted snow near the base of the snowpack is still dry and weak. Upper elevation north aspects were variable and mix of firm wind effected snow, breakable crust and some soft recrystallized powder in a few limited areas. We did not observe any new avalanche activity or signs of instability.
