Mosquito Creek Glades

20-30 cm of storm snow over the last 48 hours was beginning to consolidate into a slab at the tree line. This layer is sitting on a hard crust about 5 cm thick and slid under our skis on a couple occasions, but didn’t propogate. We chose our terrain carefully and skied below the treeline. The new spring snow made for a nice descent despite the underlying crust, although it was getting wet when we returned to the car in the afternoon.
