Wrath of the Porcupine

We spent the last 3 days in Kakwa repairing our weather station. At valley bottom we found about a metre of soft, fun snow. In the alpine we saw some small avalanches that were 24-72hrs old, out of steep unsupported terrain and blowing snow at ridge crests. Our main concern was still traps in the shallow snowpack rather than avalanches which left us keen to ride fatter areas found at tree line and lower alpine slopes. But (sadly) instead of brapping, we were busy fixing the Kakwa weather station that a resident porcupine had snacked on. (We fixed it!!)
