Snowpack
Widespread storm slabs 25-50cm deep with cracking and shearing on steep pillows and between kick turns from 1800m to ridgetop all aspects. Below treeline it was failing on a thin melt freeze crust, and at ridgetop on the north aspect (see photo) it looked like a layer of stellars (didn’t have my loupe so could’ve been surface hoar). No new avalanches observed. No windslabs observed. Soft breakable crust on top of wet snow below 1100m.
