Temps around -5 ~ -7C, 10 cm of fresh on top of a melt / sun crust from last weeks warm weather. Wind was strong in the alpine, lots of cornices on the ridge lines and alpine bowls looked very wind affected.
Weather
Light wind in the trees, moderate to intense at ridge lines and in the alpine.
Snowpack
We dug a pit down 2.25m down from surface. We performed 2 Column Tests with zero results, snow pack is very well consolidated with no evidence of crusts, facets or sugar snow deep in the snowpack. The sun/melt crust at the surface is currently about 10cm down below fresh snow. Surface snow was sluffing on this layer, but sluff was easily managed.
