No, Harvey did not escape the rain

I wanted to believe Harvey escaped the rain, so with my can do attitude I went for a hail Mary. But with 1cm of pow on 5cm of rock solid crust, the decision to ski or not to ski was an easy one. Rain left its cruel mark at the Harvey hut. Avalanche debris was lightly dusted with snow on every aspect of the bowl, making the possibility of a broken leg a very real one. Across the valley, the slope looked almost worse off. What did I learn today? That maybe it's time to get back on the bike.
