Went out with low expectations hoping to find soft snow up high. Headed towards the NW couloir on avalanche accessing it from the bottom up. Terrible skinning btl really hard travel but above 1900m things improved drastically. There was 6-15cm of new snow increasing with elevation. Over a thin crust which eventually petered out completely. Probed between 150-230cm in the Kors Thomas bowl. Thin windskin/slab forming in the upper reaches of the couloir made us bail 100m short of the top out. Great skiing but poor vis for our descent.
