Toured whitewater ridge. 2 things to note. 1. We saw the crown from a large natural avalanche on the NE ridge of whitewater mtn. SE aspect. Recent natural trigger, likely wind slab? We were far away, but the crown was easily visible- noticed the crown at a narrow notch near ridgeline, but it propagated lower and quite wide around a rocky cliff band. Sorry, no pics. A few dry loose sluffs was the only other activity we saw. 2. Valley was cold in morning and late afternoon, but in the sun higher up it was really pleasant. Snow still stayed dry light powder even with the sun warmth.
