Small cracks (10 cm deep) forming while skinning up from skis contacting snow surface. Skied only mild / easy terrain, due to weather and visibility.
Weather
Snowing, heavily at times. -1 degrees at the summit creek parking lot. Winds were light most of the day. Visibility was poor, was difficult to gauge snow and terrain detail due to poor lighting and contrast levels. Warming trend in effect.
Snowpack
Snow pack compression test did not fail/collapse. Finger test indicated most of the snow pack was stable. First 20 cm of snow indicated signs of sugary, granular snow and signs of Faceting. Next 100 cm allowed for 1 finger penetration, and top layer (20-30 cm) was mostly light fluffy powder. No signs of recent avalanche activity on area. No signs of recently reported hoar frost layer.
