We found deep powder in sheltered areas at Proserpine. In more wind-exposed areas, we could feel the hard old snow under the new. Today, there was no wind, and the cold, clear conditions were growing surface hoar right up to the mountaintop. We dug a few profiles and found the rain crust from January 17th down 40cm. Only one profile had surface hoar, buried down 20cm in an untouched meadow below Treeline.
