Avalanche

Dug pit just below cornice at top of Montgomery Bowl. Weak layer in top buried crust (30cm). Failed St sixth full arm strike. Little evidence of wind overnight. Multiple layers below with sugary snow towards ground. Avalanches visible to North on ridges near Montgomery Pass on east aspects. All avalanches were below cornices. Terrain where slides had occurred was Similar to pit location. Aspect: E Elevation: Above treeline
