Cloudy with moderate to high winds, light snow and occasional graupel. Temp: mid 20's. Elevation: ~11,300 ft. Aspect: East

Snowpack

4 to 6 in. of new snow loosely bonded to condensed sun affected snow with a breakable crust.

Avalanche

A snowboarder taking a wide turn into the East facing aspect of the chute triggered a wind slab to break and propagate away from the rider for roughly 50 yards. The resulting crown was roughly 6 inches deep (wind packed fresh snow layer sliding on sun crust). R2 D1
