Weather
Mostly sunny in the AM, some PM clouds, but no precip. Light winds. Good overnight freeze followed by above-freezing temps at all but highest elevations and N-facing terrain.
Snowpack
Several inches of new snowfall on top of a fairly consolidated base. Getting quite soft in the afternoon on all except N aspects, below about 13000'. Some sloughing of the new snow at the old-new interface was observed while traversing on skis around 13,300' on the SE face of Gray Wolf Mountain.
Avalanche
Lots of evidence of recent avalanches in the area, particularly on steep slopes below rock and cliff bands on nearly all aspects. Notably, lots of activity on W-facing terrain, where snow cover was nearly nonexistant several weeks ago! Mostly looked like wet loose slides (lots of pinwheels), but likely some storm slab activity as well as some debris was visible even on high, shaded aspects, e.g. the NW face of Mt. Bierstadt.
