Weather
Cloudy conditions,visibility 100 to 200 feet with gust reducing visibility to 50 feet or less. light made slopes appear very flat. Slopes may have had 2 to 3 inches of fresh snow with significant wind loading on the upper sw facing slopes.
Snowpack
variable snowpack with 2 to 3 inches of fresh snow, significant wind loading on upper sw facing slopes.
Avalanche
Within 500 feet of the radio tower site on Mines peak l triggered and was caught in a shallow, slow moving slab avalanche. I was knocked down and traveled at least 100 feet. I came to rest about 500 feet from treeline, uninjured(not buried) and able to recover a ski that came off about 15 feet from were I stopped. I was the only person involved in the Incident and was able to ski out on my own. The visibility and uncertain nature of the slope made the inspection of the site dificult.
