Weather

Sunny most of the day and warm. Car thermometer registered 43F at 7:30 am at trailhead. Very light flurries around 1 pm. Wind got gusty around the same time, otherwise light to no wind.

Snowpack

Very crusty all aspects until almost to Fern Lake. Once at or above Fern Lake, the upper layer felt like a very stiff wind slab approximately 2-3" in depth. I only paid attention to NW to N to NE slopes.

Avalanche

None seen in any of the terrain around Fern Lake.
