Snowpack

Snowpack is heavily wind-affected and distribution is highly variable and hard to predict. Wind drifts are interspersed with areas that have been stripped to the ground. Where there is a snowpack, a slab 20-50 cm thick overlies 30cm of well developed facets and depth hoar. The slab is 4F-1F near treeline and P to P+ above treeline. The snowpack can not support much additional load.
