Weather

Temperatures were warmer then yesterday under cloudy skies. Light snowfall was observed intermittently. Winds gusted at times out of the NW was no wind-loading was observed.

Snowpack

From Ophir South on 145 there is significantly more snow than in the Telluride area. Only a few naturals were observed from the Highway and all were on NE slopes. On a quick lap below treeline in the Rico area no signs of insatiability were observed. The new snow was setting quickly with today's warm temps. A snowpit in the Scotch Creek area on a NE facing slope @ ~8600. HS was 70cm. Top 20CM 4 finger new snow. The new snow was sitting on a layer of near surface facets over an array of crust/facet combinations. ECTPVE on the ground.

SS-N-R1-D1 below treeline observed from highway 145 just south of Lizard head pass.
