Sunny day with calm winds and mild temperatures. No wind transport.

Snowpack

Shallow snowpack in the big Snowmass fetch. Snow transported by the NW winds. Shallow snowpack in the sunny slopes. Crusts and facets/depth hoar combo along the snowpack. No signs of current unstability (not a lot of different terrain covered).

Avalanche

Two avalanches reported. Both in SE slopes starting at 12,100 feet, very close to the ridge. - Hairball's slope: natural (probably 12/24/2013), R2D2. -Juan's way slope: natural triggered by a cornice fall (12/24/2013), R3D2 (pictures and crown profile)
