Snowpack

600-750 mm HS was the average deepest cover on portions of the slope that are concave and catching wind drift. There were also waist deep trap doors on the leeward side of the rock bands used to ascend. Hastily cut pits showed similar conditions all across easterly facing slopes. P hardness wind crust at surface 4-5" thick, on top of 20-30" of loosely consolidated crystals, on top of 2" of slightly faceted snow. Snowpack did not show obvious signs of instability such as woompfing, or cracking into the thicker middle layers. The top layer/ wind crust was however very strong, and broke off in large chunks.
