Snowpack

I dug a pit next to an old pit from 3 day ago, to compair temperatures and compression tests. The pit was located on a southeast aspect at 11,880' with a slope angle of 30 degrees. The storm total in the past 24 hours is 41 cm. Total height of snow is 141 cm. Since Sunday morning, air temperatures have dropped to below freezing levels, re-freezing the upper portions of the snowpack, but not the lower layers. Below the new snow, a layer of 14 cm is frozen ice masses. The lower wet snow layers remain 0 C.
