Weather

Crisp morning with mild temps in the afternoon. Light winds and clear skis.

Snowpack

The snowpack below treeline consist of the new snow from this past weeks storm, sitting on a base of compressed facets. The Christmas storm came in right side up with 1 finger plus at the bottom of the new snow with fist and four finger snow near the surface. There seems to be quite a bit of strength in the new snow, but if an avalanche falls it will fail on the facets above to ground.

Avalanche

Lost of natural activity from this past storm viewed in the Ophir area. Most paths on Silver Mountain, above Ophir road, ran during the storm S-SE aspects. From the top of Mustang you could see many crown lines on Yellow Mountain N-NE-E aspects
