Weather

Weather was sunny and 30-35 degrees. Avalanche occured above treeline, from just underneath the cornice to the bottom of the gully. Yesterday, we received snowfall.

Snowpack

Varied snowpack, lots of wind loaded areas on terrain features. Snow was getting very heavy as the sun warm and shining all day.

Avalanche

Diamond Peak North, North aspect, inside of a gully, triggered 2 turns into the gully, with the crown starting 20 above skier, ripping to the ground.
