Bluebird Day

A little blue bird told us the riding would be good up at Bijoux today, turns out he was right! Recent winds had scoured south and west facing open areas but there was powder to be found in sheltered areas. There was old avalanche debris from a few small and one larger avalanche in the area but they all looked to be at least 2 days old. We then tested several steep but small safe slopes to see if we could trigger anything but had no results. When we dug down to check, we found weak layers in the upper 80cm of the snowpack that seem to be gaining strength but are still possible to trigger.
