Jan 6, Churchill slidepaths

Ventured up Churchill slide paths today. No signs of recent avalanche activity. South path has definitely seen a lot of traffic, yet the old tracks are reasonably faceted out. At 2100m the snowpack was 140cm and the top 50 cm were right side up snowpack with obvious signs of faceting. North path had fewer tracks but below 1600 m one started sinking to ground through facets in few shallower cold spots. Temperature at the car was -21 and -15 at the top of our run with no significant ridge top winds or snow transport. Happy skiing!
