Ice - Good Luck and Bad Dreams

Ice is in decent shape but has a section missing from earlier this week. Maybe a 2m gap in the main pillar. We climbed both the mixed alternate and the skinny ice pillar. I think protecting the ice pillar would be tricky and it probably needs that delicate touch. Take a couple cams for the mixed line as transitioning to ice would be hard and going right on cams seemed a better option. Ice on the final pillar was brittle at times but climbed ok. Most notable hazard today was rocks and small chunks of ice peppering down the climb from overhead on multiple occasions. We suspect it was wind and solar triggering above. Snow on the approach was scoured clean in some areas. Once in the drainage below the climb, the snow had a hard crust with softer snow below.
