A fun weekend spent near Caligata lake. We skied a variety of northish facing steep alpine and subalpine slopes. Ski quality was best lower on some soft snow with surface hoar, but the upper elevations skied fairly good with about 1-2" of soft snow and we got a bit sendy. No instabilities were seen apart from what looked like a rock release on raft triggering a size 1. Saturday was a mix of sun cloud with wind in the alpine and Sunday mostly sunny. Trailbreaking was good to difficult based on wind effect, but boot packing was very efficient on the steeper parts. Cornices are quite large. Temperatures over night were -15C with clear skies and the surface hoar is growing in sheltered locations.
