Video Peak

Busy day on Video. We were surprised to find it untouched and without a track, but counted 10+ riders behind us from the summit. Great snow, boot deep down the face with a few pockets of wind affect in places lower down. At times on the way up we found that this had stiffened significantly and began to crack, but this was always isolated. Generally we found the recent storm snow to be cold and unconsolidated, but poorly bonded below. Cold and calm with the sun trying to poke through.

On our way down hospital bowl we triggered this soft slab that failed in 30cm of storm snow. It occurred in inconsequential terrain but on a steep and unsupported convexity. No other signs of recent failures in the area.
