There was a cold snap during the last few days, a dramatic drop of temps, was about -40 the night before. There was a fast change of temperature as the sun came out and started beaming onto the climb, rapidly warming the ice. Some parts of the climb already looked a bit aerated and sun affected.

Was about -18 at the Weeping wall parking lot on a bluebird day after a strong cold snap. It was significantly warming up in the afternoon. We stopped by the lot to scope out Sniveling Gully and there was a party on Weeping wall. There was a massive curtain above the belayer that snapped and almost hit them by nearly a few inches. The Debris scattered across the climb and created a tremendous sound. The belayer mentioned they were hit with a waterbottle sized piece of ice on their shoulder. We decided to change our objective and climb something with no overhead hazard as the solar effect on the ice was starting to become strongly apparent.
