NE facing ridge of Resolution Mountain was slightly punchy between 11,600 and 11,800. We dug a snow pit on this aspect the previous day next to the Fowler Hilliard hut and discovered a few inches of unconsolidated wet snow sitting on top of a substantial crust layer and topped by 3-4 inches of new snow that fell on the evening of 4/27. SW aspect on descent between 10,800 and 10,000 was severely punchy and would result in ski/snowboard postholes when stopped. Below 10,000 there was no upper crust layer and was simply unconsolidated wet snow.
