Sunshine trying to peak through, some light flurries and some wind gusts blowing snow off trees.

Very quick look around the new snow bonding with the old snow surface, and for any freshly formed wind slabs. Traveled below and near treeline on south and southeast slopes. New snow and snow over the last 7 days have drifted in to ~30-40 cm soft slab over a stout 2cm thick melt freeze crust that is supportable to skis, but not boot pen. ECTN26 that did not propagate cross the entire column on this melt freeze crust. The effects of SW winds drifting northeast slopes was evident by the pillowy, sculptured look of cross loaded terrain features. These were soft with very minor cracking when tested with skis. Pleanty of snow available for transport when winds return.
