Day 1 at Fairy Meadows didn't start great for our group. Everyone headed out for what was going to be a quick and easy tree run. We spread out across the practice slopes heading toward tree run #1. About 10 skiers went across a gully while 2 more waited for the other skiers to get out of the terrain trap before entering. The 2 skiers entered the gully and remotely triggered a small size 1 avalanche, one was fully buried and the other had his head sticking out of the snow. Fortunately before getting caught they were able to get attention of the group of 5 ahead of them. The partly buried skier was able to dig himself out and help to the rescue of the fully buried skier. No one was injured but ski poles were lost. Couple days later after more wind and more snow, multiple large natural (size 3-4) avalanches were heard and observed across the valley
