1650m SE aspect 30-35 degree slope off Columnar. Temp -5C CTM 22 (a novice column test) sudden collapse fracture on 15-20cm weak layer. Recent crust appears solid on low-angle terrain, no breaking with poles or skis. Loose-dry avalanches on SW Columnar and below saddle between Gargoyles appeared unchanged as noted on the Jan 23 MIN.
