Weather

The weather deteriorated throughout the day as clouds moved in from the NW. High thin clouds thickened and kept the sun obscured. Moderate winds at ridgeline.

Snowpack

Lower elevation southerly slopes had a weak melt-freeze crust covered with less than 1" of new snow. Pit profiles attached for SE & NE NTL. SE location was in a leeward, wind-loaded location. Very stiff layers of old wind slab sit above thin layers of weak facets. 2mm facets comprised the basal layer, but had not formed into DH. NE location was also a wind-loaded slope with stiff slabs capping thin layers of facets. The bottom 55cm was a full layer of 2-3mm DH.
