Weather

Mostly cloudy early in the day with partial clearing in the afternoon. Breezy above treeline with some strong gusts. Temps stayed cool in the alpine, but mild at lower elevations.

Snowpack

We are just under two weeks from our last significant snowfall event. The prolonged period of dry and warm and windy weather has made its mark on the snowpack. Slopes above treeline hold very hard old slabs. Most sunny slopes hold stout surface crusts with dry snow below. Small refuges of soft recycled powder still exist and isolated locales on due north terrain. No fresh avalanches nor any signs of instability.

Avalanche

Evidence of R1D1 wet loose slides from steep rocky terrain- likely ran on March 7th or 8th
