Gorgeous day with blue skies, cold temps and 10-14" of new snow.
Snowpack
We dug in two locations: First was near Rabbit Ears in a north facing protected area. HS was 155cm and the snowpack contained very few perceptible weak layers. For the most part, the snowpack is right-side up with soft snow on top and increasing hardness up to a consolidated pencil hard slab through the mid and lower pack. The bottom 10-15cm were bonded facets and not a concern for stability. The second location was on the east side of Buffalo Pass at 10300' on an east facing slope. The snowpack was a little thinner but still topped out at 135cm. A few weak layers were detected but were well bonded to the layers above and below and did not propagate in stability tests.
