Skied some sweet powder laps on the slide paths on the west side of the Asulkan valley between elevation 1300-1600 on Sunday. Early season conditions prevail but there is good skiing to be had if you can dodge alders. Observed loose dry sloughs of the recent storm snow running on the old snow surface while skiing on steep micro-terrain (rolls, pillows, small slopes over 35 degrees) that could run 10's of meters. Not much of a risk in the terrain we were in but could become a bigger risk issue with more snow and on larger slopes.
