Observations from 0900-1300. Elevation between 700 and 1700 m. Sunny and clear. Light N winds at the ridge with strong N outflows in the valley early. Surface hoar observed on all aspects and elevations (2-6 mm). Very little solar affect before noon. Snow quality stayed good on everything but steep south.

Sfc snow temp was -8 and 10 cm temp was -9. Nly winds were helping keep the snow surface cool and delaying sun effect.

CTM-H RP down 38 cm below a thin crust on decomposing snow (but pretty well preserved). Also had a moderate failure with ECT but it arrested. Additionally, we observed consistent shears down 20-25 cm (most recent wind slab).
