Weather

Strong High Pressure with winds light and variable.Previous day had strong winds 280 at 35-45 knots

Snowpack

10-12 inches of beautiful light powder on top of 5-6 inches of soft wind pack.Skiing was excellent

Avalanche

Skier triggered 1 -22-23' deep fracture on 35-38 degree slope.Slide was soft slab with 10-15 yard wide chunks.Skier was skiing safe line on 10-15 degree slope 60-70-yards parallel to slide path (see video).Old slide was observed 200 yards away.Possibly triggered by snow machine.Old slide was in obvious wind deposited area.
