A group of 4 were skinning up the Asulkan hut access route. Approximately 50 meters from the Asulkan hut, the group leader triggered a size 1.5 windslab on a leeside slope. The windslab was located of the looker’s left side of the hut gully. The first person in the group was knocked over and carried approx. 5 meters downslope. They were majority buried except for one arm. They were able to breathe normally. Group members 2&3 were impacted by the slab with snow up to their knees but were not knocked down. Group member 4 was not impacted. The group extracted member 1 quickly. No injuries. After, the group turned around and followed their skin track back down into the sheltered areas of the tree triangle.
