Dug a quick pit and noted a planar fracture at CTM 11 down 35cm. The snow above 35 cm is still very unconsolidated. Assuming this layer is the Jan surface hoar but weren't able to visualize surface hoar on the crystal screen. We planned to ski mellow slopes below burnt knob and stuck to this plan. Did not see any cracking or slab properties developing in our area. Very light fluffy pow.
