The main concerns identified in the snowpit are the November 22 facet layer located in the middle of the snowpack and some rounding facets near the base of the snowpack. Test results were in the moderate to hard range, but recent avalanches show that these layers are currently quite reactive, especially where they are accompanied by wind loading or impacted by cornice failures. Warming temperatures may also increase the sensitivity of the weak layers.
