AST-1 group from Mercier high school learning about avalanches. We dug pits close to the highway, south facing. There was 60cm of snow on the ground. Snow temperature was about 1 degree at the surface and 0 at the ground. Compression tests reacted at medium at the base of the snowpack. We did a ruschblock that triggered at R4. A crust formed on top of the snow at Log Cabin due to the warm temperature Tuesday.
