Burstall Pass

In sheltered areas, surface hoar had formed on top of soft snow with ski penetration 15cm. Open areas had lots of wind affect and little to no ski penetration.

Saw evidence of at least 3 recent avalanches, all in the alpine in lee areas. Evidence of a slab avalanche is just visible underneath a cornice in one photo, with a wide crown. Lots of sluffing observed on steep alpine areas/cliffs and a fair bit of snow being moved at ridge line.
