We were skiing the off bound of the kicking horse resort compagny. This morning we saw the ski patrol trigger explosive on T2. We didn't saw any avalanche trigger by the explosive. We went on skiing terminator 2.5 at around 1 pm. On the higher part of the slope, We ski as close as possible to the tree. We went around the cliff band at 2000 meters and we ski the next slope (north-east facing) were we trigger the avalanche at an altitude of 2000 meters The slope is a little convex, 30 degrees angle. Some/few tree. The skier trigger the slab on his first track. (Depth 60 cm, 30 meters wide, and ran 100 meters). The snow was powder like the rest of the slope no wind effect. The skier was in the middle of the avalanche. Not enough speed to get away. He triggered his airbag and he rode the avalanche for 50 meters. He didn't get buried but has a minor calf injury. He rode home after.
